[hal-00764939, v1] Electromyostimulation and EMG real time device with muscle fatigue estimation
نویسندگان
چکیده
This study presents a system composed of an electromyostimulation (ES) and an electromyograph (EMG) modules which analyze in real time EMG during ES and proposes a new method based on wavelet decomposition to analyze changes in M wave. It leads to introduce a new muscular fatigue index. Different methods to filter the EMG noise are then compared. The results show that this new index gives reliable and robust results even when noise corrupts significantly the signal.

A real time electromyostimulator linked with EMG analysis device
In this study, a new system composed of two modules (electromyostimulation + electromyography recording) is presented. It can analyze in real time EMG signals during electromyostimulation. In addition, we propose a new method based on wavelet decomposition to analyze changes in M-wave characteristics. It leads to introduce a new index related to muscular fatigue.
متن کاملEMG-based Fatigue Assessment During Endurance Testing With Different VT Protocols
BACKGROUND: Muscle fatigue can be defined as the failure of a muscle to maintain a reasonably expected force output. The multivariate approach to fatigue assessment is used because the multiple (EMG) feature provides more information than anyone. OBJECTIVE: This study presents a method of assessing muscle fatigue during endurance testing at 50% maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) using electro...

Background: Muscle fatigue is an important issue in neuromuscular rehabilitation. Better control of this phenomenon would result in better prevention of its consequent physiological damages. Objective: To provide a mathematical representation of muscle fatigue as a function of time. Methods: We conducted this study by combining the EMG-based estimation methods of muscle activation with the availa...

CONTEXT With regard to intermittent training exercise, the effects of the mode of recovery on subsequent performance are equivocal. OBJECTIVE To compare the effects of 3 types of recovery intervention on peak torque (PT) and electromyographic (EMG) activity of the knee extensor muscles after fatiguing isokinetic intermittent concentric exercise. DESIGN Crossover study. SETTING Research la...
متن کاملDetecting and Predicting Muscle Fatigue during Typing By SEMG Signal Processing and Artificial Neural Networks
Introduction: Repetitive strain injuries are one of the most prevalent problems in occupational diseases. Repetition, vibration and bad postures of the extremities are physical risk factors related to work that can cause chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Repetitive work on a computer with low level contraction requires the posture to be maintained for a long time, which can cause muscle fatigu...
